Happy Hour was the original name of a friendly and light-hearted Lineone bbs group. When Lineone was taken over by Tiscali the bbs servers were replaced by web based forums. Many of the original Happy Hour members who preferred using a newsreader moved to the pre-existing, but vacant alt.happy.valley newsgroup. Shortly after this move a Happy Valley website was set up as a resource for the newsgroup.
The Happy Valley website has how evolved into this site which has adopted the name Happy Hour in tribute to the original forum and in recognition of the fact that some users of this site (and in particular the Fantasy F1 league) are more likely to post in UPS rather than alt.happy.valley or do not use newsgroups at all.
We are always keen to hear from any of those past dwellers who have been off wandering other valleys or frequenting other happy hours, or from new visitors who have just stumbled in hoping for half-price prosecco.
